Joana Amadork. Joana has completed Agricultural Engineering from the University of Lleida (UdL), and Gestalt therapist. She has supplemented her education with many courses in agronomy, organic farming and team management. She worked as agricultural advisor in integrated pest management (IPM) during 5 years. Since 2000 she has been teaching at the Agricultural Training Centre in Manresa (Barcelona, Spain). She has also been the Director of the Centre for two years (2008-2010). Her teaching activity has focused mainly on organic farming, specifically biological pest control and plant health. She collaborates in the Organic Agriculture Master of University of Barcelona (UB), as teacher, master thesis supervisor and as membership of master thesis committee. During the last ten years, she has coordinated 21 organic farming courses, and written seven informative articles.
Glòria Coloml. Gloria has completed Agricultural Engineering from the University of Lleida (UdL). She has supplemented her education with many courses in agronomy, organic farming, leadership and management skills, waste management, pedagogical skills, renewable energy and sustainable building. She worked as engineer expert in composting and organic wastes during 8 years. She has also been working on the protection of wildlife hunting in agricultural systems. Since 2004 she has been teaching and coaching students at the Agricultural Training Centre in Manresa (Barcelona, Spain). In this Centre, she has been the School Director since 2010 to 2014. Since 2014, she is also responsible for ISO 9001 Quality implementation and maintenance. Escola Agrària de Manresa (EAM) is a public secondary school integrated in the network of schools of the Agricultural Education Service of the Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries, Food and Environment of the Government of Catalonia. It is placed under the legal sphere of the DEPARTAMENT D’AGRICULTURA, RAMADERIA, PESCA I ALIMENTACIO. The Centre is specialised in teaching organic agricultural production and renewable energy since 1988. The school is well-known inside and outside the country, which thrives on the initiative of teachers, the vitality of collaborators and sharing with organic producers. The staff is composed of ten full and half-time employees and several collaborators. The Centre has a close relationship with a Non-profit Organisation called “Espai de Recursos Agroecològics” (L’Era, http://www.associaciolera.org) as a support to complementing its work with projects like “Agrocultura” (www.agrocultura.org), a quarterly magazine specialised in organic production and renewable energies, and Esporus (www.esporus.org), specialised in agricultural biodiversity. The centre offers organic agricultural trainings and seminars, not just for its students but also for professionals and amateurs, making and average of one thousand students and more than three thousand training hours per year (more than one thousand five hundred students and more than three thousand five hundred hours counting with the training done by l’Era). The centre is certified in a quality system since 2015, based on the quality standard UNE- EN ISO 9001.
